Signature basics
Each system tracks its signatures — the cosmic signatures you see in the in-game probe scanner, identified by a code like ABC-123 (three letters, a dash, three digits).
A signature on the map records:
- its signature ID (e.g.
ABC-123) - its category
- its type (the specific site, once resolved) — or a free-text name for temporary event sites
- for wormholes, an optional link to the connection it represents, plus mass, ship-size, and lifetime status

Why it matters
Signatures are how the chain stays trustworthy. A fully-scanned system with every signature resolved tells your group there are no surprise wormholes left to find — and a system with unresolved signatures flags work still to do.
The fastest way to enter them is pasting your scan results.
